Tibial Nerve Bifurcation

The tibial nerve bifurcates into the lateral and medial plantar nerves. In this specimen the bifurcation is 2.5cm above the medial malleolar calcaneal axis (red line). Normally the bifurcation is located within 1cm of this axis.
