Flexor Retinaculum

flexor retinaculum

The flexor retinaculum is not a distinct structure, it is continuous with the fascia of the lower leg. Fibers of the flexor retinaculum converged anterior to the medial malleolus, and radiated outward towards the calcaneus and Achilles tendon. Fibers were thickest anteriorly, near the medial malleolus, and thinner as they radiated outward.
