Plantar Fascia
The skin and fascia of the foot was found to be thick and fibrous, relating to its weightbearing function. The plantar aponeurosis originates from the medial process of the calcaneal tuberosity and splits into five bands attached to each MTP joint, merging with the fascia of the foot.
