Dissection

Great and small saphenous veins were identified

Small cutaneous veins were identified throughout the exposed area, as well as the great saphenous vein posterior to the medial condyle of the femur. The small saphenous vein was located centrally in the calf and the lateral sural cutaneous nerve over the middle of the calf. A longitudinal incision was made in the deep fascia, and the flaps were reflected medially and laterally. The connective tissue was removed from the popliteal fossa.
