Summary

In summary, anatomical dissection of the iliopsoas muscle shows the complex nature and role that it has within the lumbo-pelvic region. In reference to dancers, their abnormal anatomical alignment may implicate iliopsoas in the incidence of LBP due to the increased lordosis, and SHS due to the approximation of the tendon to the anterior hip joint, both of which have considerable implications for treating physiotherapist.
