Congratulations to all of the award winners whose achievements were recognised at the Curtin School of Physiotherapy's 2010 Prize Giving Function, held on Thursday February 25th prior to the Physiotherapy Graduation Ceremony.

Special mentions must go to Liza Hatch and Cody Gilham who were awarded the 2009 Physiotherapists' Registration Board of Western Australia Prizes for the most outstanding graduates from the Bachelor of Science (Physiotherapy) course and the Master of Physiotherapy course respectively; and to Ruth Chang who was awarded several prizes including the Physiotherapy Research Foundation Prize for the Honours student with the highest dissertation mark and the Australian Physiotherapy WA Branch Marcus Rosen Prize for the graduate with the highest clinical results. This event was also Prof. Tony Wright 's last official function as Head of School as he has accepted a secondment to the position of Acting Deputy Pro Vice Chancellor for the Faculty of Health Sciences. Sara Carroll will step into the Acting Head of School role until a successor to Professor Wright is appointed.

Melanie Wade Melanie Wade - Therapy Focus Award for the Entry-Level Programs student with the highest mark in paediatrics.
 
Robert Lane, Principal, Augusta Margaret River Physiotherapy, and Peter Gardner Robert Lane - Western Australian Country Health Service and the Combined Universities Centre for Rural Health Prize to the rural physiotherapist or facility with a consistently outstanding commitment to student rural experience
Kirsten Gledich and Anne Andrews Kirsten Gledich - National Continence and Women's Health Group of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (WA Chapter) Prize for the top student in the Graduate Certificate Clinical Physiotherapy (Continence and Women's Health)
 
Ruth Chang and family, with Prof. Tony Wright and Assoc. Prof Steve Edmondston Ruth Chang - Physiotherapy Research Foundation Prize for the Honours student with the highest mark from their dissertation, The School of Physiotherapy Prize for the best Honours presentation, and The Australian Physiotherapy Association (WA Branch) Marcus (Joe) Rosen Prize for the graduate with the highest clinical results.
David Locke David Locke - The Australian Physiotherapy Association (Western Australian Branch) Prize for the first year physiotherapy student with the highest results.
 
Anne Dummett Anne Dummett - Lifecare Award for the Master of Physiotherapy graduate with the highest clinical results (also won by Jeremy Wallis).
Amie Halse and Nola Cecins Amie Halse - Australian Physiotherapy Association Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy Australia (WA Chapter) "Jane Kinging" Prize for the third year physiotherapy student with the highest results in cardiopulmonary science.
