Graduate Certificate in Clinical Physiotherapy (Continence and Women's Health Major)

Detailed Course Structure

To complete the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Physiotherapy, students must undertake and pass four units of study, equalling a total of 100 credit points (25 credits per unit) - the equivalent of one semester of full-time study. Three of the units are mandatory, and one is selected from a list of two optional units focusing on Continence and Women's Health. Students with clinical experience in Continence and Women's Health physiotherapy may be eligible to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for the unit Physiotherapy Clinical Practice 651.

Supervised clinical placements will be organised.
Pelvic Floor Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation 650
This unit will be delivered over two 5-day blocks. Students must attend all eight sessions to complete the unit. Assignments will be set for students to complete (after each block) and practical assessments will be incorporated into the contact time.
Teaching Block 1: February 9, 10, 12 & 13, 2008 (Sat - Wed)
Teaching Block 2: March 26 - 30, 2008 (Wed - Sun)
* practical assessment on Friday, 28th March 2008
Please Note: students are expected to be availabile on Monday, 11 February (during Teaching Block 1) to attend a special Essential Research Skills Workshop run by the Division of Health Sciences Librarian. This will cover accessing library resources, using Endnote (bibliographic software), using Gecko (online access to Curtin's electronic journal databases) and other essential skills that you will require in your studies.
Human Continence 650
This unit will be delivered over two 5-day blocks. Students must attend all eight sessions to complete the unit. Assignments will be set for students to complete (after each block) and practical assessments will be incorporated into the contact time.

This unit will be delivered partially online with one 5-day teaching block that students must attend at the Bentley Campus. Students will have two assignments to complete during the semester and practical assessments will be incorporated into the contact time.
