Are there any alternative pathways to gain entry to BSc (Exercise, Sports and Rehabilitation Science)?
An alternative pathway some students use to gain entry is by enrolling in another course at Curtin University. Courses such as the Bachelor of Science (Health Science) or the Bachelor of Science (Human Biology Preclinical). These courses allow students to complete some units that are within the Bachelor of Science (Exercise, Sports and Rehabilitation Science) course. Students enrolled in other courses within Curtin University are eligible to apply to course switch into the Bachelor of Science (Exercise, Sports and Rehabilitation Science) course. Places are limited therefore successful applicants usually need to achieve grades with mostly Credits and Distinctions or better in relevant units to gain entry the following year. Students who apply from courses other than those listed above should seek to have an overall course weighted average of Distinction or better. The Bachelor of Science (Exercise, Sports and Rehabilitation) course does not have a mid year intake.

Will I be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning or Unit exemption?
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)(previously Advanced Standing) is the responsibility of the Course Coordinator. If you believe you may be eligible for credit transfer or unit exemption, having previously passed post-secondary level units equivalent or similar to those undertaken in the BSc (Exercise, Sports and Rehabilitation Science) course, you should discuss RPL at the time you enrol in your first units. Then, if appropriate, lodge an application for RPL, together with adequate documentation supporting your claim.

I’m also thinking about Physiotherapy.
You may be eligible to apply for the Bachelor of Science (Physiotherapy) course or, if you have a Bachelor degree with certain pre-requisite units, then you may be eligible for the Master of Physiotherapy (graduate entry). If you miss out on a place in  Physiotherapy and want to establish an academic track-record of achievement in tertiary level units, consider the Bachelor of Science (Exercise, Sports and Rehabilitation Science), the Bachelor of Science (Health Science) or the Bachelor of Science (Human Biology Preclinical).

The Master of Physiotherapy course is a fast-track physiotherapy program undertaken over a period of two and a third calendar years. Pre-requisite units (Anatomy, Psychology and Human Biology) apply for eligibility for this program, Upon completion, you are eligible to practice as a physiotherapist. The application and selection process is separate to the Bachelor of Science (Physiotherapy) program.
