Community Based Physiotherapy Services
The School of Physiotherapy operates two physiotherapy clinics, one at the Bentley Campus of Curtin University of Technology, and the other at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Nedlands.
Treatment is provided by final year Physiotherapy students under the supervision of experienced clinicians who are academic staff at the School. Both clinics promote a high standard of professionalism and quality of patient care, and at the same time provide low-cost treatment for all members of the community.
Treatment
The clinics offer excellent quality of care through physiotherapy assessment, accurate diagnosis, and treatment where indicated, to people with musculoskeletal problems including:
- Back and neck pain
- Headaches
- Arthritis and joint pain
- Sports/musculoskeletal injuries
- Post-surgical rehabilitation
- Injury rehabilitation
A range of treatment methods are prescribed and both clinics have fully equipped rehabilitation gymnasiums. The clinic at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital also has a Hydrotherapy Pool.
Cost
Referrals are welcome, but not required.

Sports Physiotherapy Clinic
The Sports Physiotherapy Clinic is focussed on providing high quality physiotherapy services to people involved in sports. Under the supervision of, and in close consultation with, School of Physiotherapy Academic and Clinical staff, the Clinic offers assessment and treatment by fully qualified physiotherapists who are undertaking postgraduate study.
Services available
Assessment, treatment, advice and management of:
- Sport-related injuries and sports-specific injury management
- Sports-specific exercise prescription
- Sports-specific exercise rehabilitation
- Orthopaedic injuries (including rehabilitation post surgery)
- Spinal care with safe and specific exercise-based rehabilitation
- Postural advice and exercise re-education
- Adolescent sports-related or postural pains
- Back pain
- Headaches
- Upper limb or lower limb injuries
Design and supervision of:
- Mobilising and strengthening exercise programmes in a purpose-built, well-equipped rehabilitation gym (including Pilates equipment).

Opening Hours
The Sports Clinic runs from 1:00pm to 4.00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Variations in these consulting times occur at different times of the year. The Clinic Office is staffed between 8:00am and 4:00pm Monday to Friday for appointments.
