About us
Welcome to the Curtin School of Physiotherapy Clinical Services Website.
The Curtin School of Physiotherapy operate two clinics, one based at the Curtin University Bentley campus and the second at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. Both clinics provide low cost Physiotherapy services to all members of the community.

The physiotherapy services are provided by students in their final year of study and are supervised by experienced physiotherapists. Both clinics aim to provide a high standard of professional care. The students carry out a thorough examination and will treat you with a specific management program tailored to the cause of your problem.

FAQs
How long will it take?
Appointments do take a little longer as we are a teaching clinic. The additional time allows the students to undertake a thorough assessment and discuss their findings with the senior physiotherapist. We recommend you allow up to 1.5 hours the first time you come to see us about a problem and up to an hour for any subsequent appointment.
What to bring?
If you have any X-rays or scans of the area of your problem it is helpful, but not essential that you bring them along.
What should I wear?
We recommend you come dressed in something that makes it easy for us to see the area of your problem. For example if you have a problem with your leg, bring a pair of shorts. If you have a problem with your shoulder a low singlet, bathers or a crop top is recommended. Feel free to change into them whist you are here!
The students are trained to use towels to drape across your body so that you feel comfortable and relaxed at all times
Do I need a referral from my doctor?
Doctors referrals are very much welcome, but not essential. You can refer yourself.
Who can access the services?
The clinic is welcome to all. Anyone with a musculoskeletal condition can come to see us, young or old, sportsperson or computer nerd.
What if something is wrong with me that is too complex for a student?
The students are closely supervised by highly qualified physiotherapists, who assist the students with the examination, clinical decisions and treatment. Our staff have the most up-to-date knowledge about the latest research in many musculoskeletal conditions. We also have access to the extensive knowledge of world renowned physiotherapists who work at the Curtin School of Physiotherapy. If your condition does not look like a problem that can be managed by physiotherapy we can guide you to see another health practitioner who may be able to provide more appropriate care.
Can I use my private health ancillary benefits?
We regret that private healthcare ancillary benefits cannot be claimed against your treatment.
I’ve had a car accident can I have my treatment at the Curtin School of Physiotherapy Clinical Services?
If you are planning to claim your money back, we recommend you contact your insurer first.
